Home MenuPolice Accreditation
The Rye City Police Department is accredited by the New York State Law Enforcement Accreditation Council. RCPD first gained accreditation status in 1998 and the most recent full accreditation review of RCPD occurred in 2018.
Accreditation results from an arduous process which involves a full accreditation review every five years and an annual recertification in other years. Law enforcement accreditation is a self-initiated, voluntary process and is based on standards which are reflective of best practices in law enforcement.
The reviews are conducted by the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), the agency tasked with accrediting police departments throughout New York State.
