The police department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Administrative personnel follow a normal workweek of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The records office is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There is no parking on any public street or parking lot in the City of Rye from November 1st until April 1st between the hours of 3 a.m. and 6 a.m

There are no “yellow” cabs in Rye. The taxis are usually parked next to the train platform on the East bound side of the tracks. Please note that taxis cannot “cruise” for fares. They must be dispatched from their headquarters or hailed in the taxi stand in the plaza.

The train station parking is all permit or meter controlled. Permits are sold at city hall, 1051 Boston Post Rd. Note that weekends and holidays, parking is free.

There is no parking in the railroad station from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m

Residents may obtain letters of good conduct from the department. Proof of residency and a photo ID are required. The fee is $75.00 payable by check or money order.
