The Rye Police Department is monitoring a Tornado Watch and Flood Watch issued by the National Weather Service for our area through this evening and late tonight.

Multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected, with the potential for damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and flash flooding. Rainfall rates could reach 2–3 inches per hour, with localized totals of 3–4 inches possible.

Please use caution if you must travel. Never drive through flooded roadways, secure outdoor items, and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. If conditions become hazardous, stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
