As electric scooter use increases this spring, it’s important to know the rules in New York:

🛴 E-scooter laws:
• Riders must be 16+ (under 16 is not legal)
• Helmets required for ages 16–17 — recommended for all
• Ride on roads 30 mph or less — no sidewalks
• One rider per scooter
• Obey all traffic signals and signs
• Maximum speed: 15 mph

If your child is under 16, they should not be riding an electric scooter.
