The City of Rye Mourns the Loss of John Carey; Judge, Mayor, and City Councilman
The City of Rye mourns the loss of John Carey, Judge, Mayor, City Councilman and activist for so many causes. John constantly gave of himself on behalf of his neighbors, remaining present and involved in civic life virtually up to the time of his passing. John had a passion for service and he served his fellows well. Mayor Josh Cohn said, "John Carey was a man of many accomplishments, so many of which proved to be accomplishments for us all. John shared his life, his talents and his tremendous spirit generously with us. We will miss him."
The City of Rye and the County of Westchester will be flying the flag at half-staff to honor the life of John Carey.
