Aerobics

Certified Fitness Instructors, Janet Muller, Angel Sages and Georgianne Boshi will teach a variety of fitness classes at the Damiano Recreation Center. These classes are non-impact, high intensity conditioning workouts. Evening classes are on-going throughout the year. Morning classes meet school days only with baby-sitting available at $3 per child. Call Janet Muller for additional information and for reservations for baby-sitting at (203) 637-9446. All fees are payable to the instructor. Morning classes begin September 8. Fees are $10 for a single class; 8 week program fees: $80 for 10 classes; $105 for 16 classes; $130 for 24 classes: $150 for unlimited classes.

Rita P. Hessert teaches various ballroom style dance during this 6 week course. Couples and Singles welcome.

Folk Art Painting

Instructor Cleo Kennedy will teach the basics of this traditional art form. Registration deadline: October 1. Participants will paint either a serving tray with German Flowers (beginner project) or a Santa (advanced project). A material fee will be charged for patterns, wood and paint supplies needed and is payable to the instructor. For the first class please bring: paper towels, container for water, tracing papers, styrofoam tray and pencils.

Tai Chi

The class is open to beginning Tai Chi students as well as experienced practitioners. Participants will participate in a wonderful set of warm up exercises call Chi Kung. In addition, each individual will learn the ancient Tai Chi set called Wu Chi which has been chosen for its ability to reduce stress, improve balance and coordination, increase vitality and improve overall health. Classes will also include Tai Chi stepping (moving meditation) and Push Hand exercises.

Volleyball

This coed program for adults meets every Monday nights in the Rye High School Gym. Players of all abilities are welcome. Bring a friend. Program meets for 10 weeks.

Adult Basketball

Adults (18 and over) looking for a good game of 5 on 5 or just a place to shoot around, come to the Rye High School Gym on Tuesday nights. Program meets for 10 weeks.

Basketball - 30 and over

Looking for a good game of 5 on 5, but against those closer to your age?? Come to the Rye High School Gym on Thursday nights for a game of pick-up basketball. Program meets for 10 weeks.

Badminton

This fast passed Olympic sport is one of Rye's oldest and most enjoyed adult program. Play once or twice a week. Players need to bring their own racket. Badminton is held in the Rye Middle School Gym on Monday & Thursday nights. Program meets for 10 weeks.
