Defensive Driving Program


The City of Rye Police Department hosts the National Safety Council's Defensive Driving Course every month. The class is given on two nights and applicants must attend both sessions, starting promptly at 6:30 P.M. and finishing at 9:30 P.M.

The next Defensive Driving Class will be held on:
Tuesday, May 25th and Thursday, May 27th, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
in the Rye City Court, 21 McCullough Place.
     

The course removes three points from your driving record and a 10% reduction on your liability insurance for three years. For the low cost of $45.00 you can cut your insurance bill and reduce points on your license, while becoming a safer driver. Check or money order only payable to City of Rye.

The courses are given regularly, so if you cannot attend, you will have the opportunity to attend one in the future. The class is held in the Rye City Court, 21 McCullough Place, (above the Police Station). Check back here for dates of future classes.

Officers Michael Anderson and Michael Larkin  will be teaching the class on alternate months. All of us at the police department wish them well in their new endeavor.

Ptl. Michael Anderson has been with the department since 2000.

Sgt. Michael Larkin has been with the department since 1994. He was a member of the Peekskill Police Department for 6 years before coming to Rye.
