City of Rye

Friends of Rye Nature Center

Meet the second Wednesday of each month at 8 p.m. at the Rye Nature Center.
The public is invited to attend.

The purpose of this non-profit organization is to support the Rye Nature Center through volunteer and fund-raising activities. The organization works with the Nature Center and the City’s Conservation Commission (CC/AC) to encourage conservation of resources and natural areas in Rye and neighboring communities and to support local conservation efforts and help protect natural areas for future generations. Examples of their ongoing efforts include:

Rye Recycling - a joint effort of FRNC, CC/AC, and concerned citizens to promote recycling, waste reduction, and the environmentally responsible disposal of waste.

Trees for Rye - a joint program of FRNC, other community organizations, and concerned citizens for the enhancement of Rye’s Street Tree Program through education and promotion of tree planting and maintenance.

FRNC Membership benefits include discounts for Nature Center programs and gift shop purchases, the Rye Nature Center Quarterly Newsletter, and the personal satisfaction of contributing directly to the protection of our valuable natural resources, and helping children learn about the natural environment and why we need to protect it. For membership information contact the Nature Center office or cal (914) 967-5150.
