Dear Friend,
I am pleased to announce that on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, President Bush declared a major disaster in Westchester and Rockland Counties following the Nor'easter that caused major flooding in our area. I commend the President for acting so quickly to recognize the critical needs facing our region. This disaster declaration will begin the flow of desperately-needed federal aid. If you suffered damage to your home or business, please see the information below about the steps you must take in order to apply for federal assistance.
As we work to secure every possible federal resource to recover from this storm, please rest assured that I am also fighting to take the necessary steps to mitigate future floods. If you have any questions or problems applying for assistance, please contact my office at 914-428-1707 or 845-639-3485, and we will try to help in every way we can.
