Description of Services

The City Council is comprised of the Mayor and six Council Members elected by the voters of the City at large. They serve without compensation for four-year terms. The legislative power and the determination of all matters of policy is rested in the Council.


Meetings

The City Council meets in regular session in the Council Room at City Hall on the first and third Wednesday of each month, beginning at 8:00 p.m., except June, July, August and September when they meet on the third Wednesday only.

City Code:

Includes the City Charter and a compilation of all City of Rye laws. The Code may be amended by the City Council after a public hearing.
