  •    Lieutenants in the department are the highest ranking of all sworn members. Currently there are three uniform lieutenants and one detective lieutenant. 



  •     The sergeants are the first line supervisor in the police department. They are responsible for day to day assignments within their respective platoons. The sergeant's job is to assess the needs of the city throughout the tour of duty and to assign the patrolman tasks that support the department's mission.


  • The patrolman perform numerous functions within the department.
    1. General zone patrol - The officers patrol a defined area and answer calls for service, investigate suspicious activity, check "dark houses", ( houses that are temporarily vacant ), enforce vehicle & traffic laws and criminal laws.
    2. Bike patrol - The bicycle patrol is a unit within the patrol division. Officers assigned to the bikes cover various areas of the city depending on the needs of the department.
    3. First responder on medical emergencies. 




  •     The parking enforcement officers patrol the parking lots and side streets in the village and railroad station area.
